FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What's the difference between an Exterior Dock Leveler and a Pit Leveler?
Exterior Dock Levelers are installed OUTSIDE your building with zero concrete work. So, they can be installed 10X faster than a Pit Levelers, which require you to “dig a pit.” No holes in your floors means you save time, space and energy, plus you can relocate your leveler if needed.
How much does an Exterior Dock Leveler cost?
We hate to be “that guy” but every loading situation is unique, and our Exterior Dock Levelers will be tailored for your loading situation. We have various leveler sizes, options to include Dock House, restraints, insulation, DC power and much more. A quick 15-minute conversation with one of our engineers can result in a quote specific to your application.
What maintenance is required?
Our Exterior Dock Levelers feature push-button hydraulic levelers, requiring only simple inspections and fluid checks. Backed by our 5-year warranty, we ensure long-term reliability to eliminate downtime and keep your business firing on all cylinders.
Do I have to install this, or do you?
Our team of experts have Exterior Dock Leveler installs down to a science to get you up and running 10X faster than a pit leveler install—without ever disrupting your internal operations. The best part? No concrete work! If you want to lead install, we can also work with you to coordinate that.
Is this heavy duty enough for high cycle environments?
Short answer: absolutely. There’s a misconception that the exterior design means it’ll crumble in the face of a bad truck driver. Let us assure you: there isn’t a truck, trailer or cargo van that can shake the Exterior Dock Leveler. Our steel frame is engineered to absorb and redirect impact forces into the ground, protecting your building from damage.
Why should I choose Dockzilla?
The loading dock industry has been stuck in the stone age, with no evolution or innovation. We’ve engineered a better, smarter way to get loading faster with a product that outpaces an in-floor pit leveler in every way. Our team will not be satisfied until we’ve helped you solve your loading challenges.
This all sounds good but I’m not ready to speak to an engineer yet.
We get it. It’s a big decision. If you want to learn more about the Dock House, check out the Resources & Documents section on this page.
“Installing Dockzilla’s Dock House with Loading Dock Leveler is a no brainer. Having a more modern and sustainable dock leveler option that means we don’t have to dig pits out of our building floors just makes a ton of sense.”
